Do You Have A Book for Marble Press? Here’s How to Start.
We have found that authors are at different points with their manuscripts. Some have completed their work, some are halfway there, and some merely have an idea for a book. We welcome hearing from any and all because books are our specialty. Below are suggestions on how to proceed:
FINISHED MANUSCRIPTS
If you have a manuscript completed, send it to us (regular mail to our New York address or electronically through the Internet) and include a note telling us a little about yourself, why you wrote the book, what your hopes are for your book if it is published. If we see its potential, we’ll give you the specifics of our offer, including size, layout and design, timelines, possible markets, number of copies for an initial printing, start-up fees that apply, and royalty payments that are due to us based on your book’s sales – everything you’ll need to know before making a decision about your book. Send your finished manuscript to our acquisitions editor at editor@marblepress.com
MANUSCRIPT UNDERWAY BUT NOT FINISHED
If you have a manuscript that is underway but not finished and you want to know if it might be a good prospect for a book, send us what you have, with a description of how you see the remainder of the book, some idea of when you might finish it, and any particular plans you might have for the book once it is published. Our editorial staff will review what you send, consider your thoughts about finishing it and any plans for foresee for your book, and will be back in touch with you about its potential for publishing. At that point, we’ll give you some idea of what we see in terms of publishing the book, along with an assessment of it size, its possible viability for sales, and related background information that may help you to decide on finishing your work.
